Consultation Closed – What Happens Next
The Regulation 18 consultation for the West Northamptonshire Local Plan has now closed.
We would like to thank all members and local residents who took the time to submit individual responses. Your support at this stage is extremely important and ensures that the strength of feeling and the planning concerns regarding Site N19 have been clearly communicated.

Our Position
Collingtree Park Golf Club has submitted a detailed formal objection to the proposed allocation of Site N19.
Our position remains that:
· The golf course is a well-established and heavily used sports facility
· There is no evidence it is surplus to requirements
· No replacement provision has been proposed
· The allocation conflicts with national planning policy
· There are significant concerns regarding flood risk, infrastructure and sustainability
Independent evidence also confirms that the loss of the course would result in a shortfall in local golf provision.
Freehold Ownership Update
The freehold of the site has now been acquired by a Davidson Developments Ltd.
However:
· The Club continues to operate under its long-term lease
· There is no immediate impact on play, access or membership
· The Club is taking professional legal and planning advice
Importantly, land ownership does not determine planning outcomes. Any development would still need to comply with planning policy and be tested through the Local Plan process.
What Happens Next
West Northamptonshire Council will now:
· Review all consultation responses
· Reassess site allocations and supporting evidence
· Decide which sites to retain, amend or remove
A revised Local Plan (Regulation 19) will then aim to be published in Oct/Nov 2026.
At that stage:
· The plan will be subject to further representations
· An independent Planning Inspector will examine whether it is sound
Our Focus Now
Our objective is clear:
To secure the removal of Site N19 from the Local Plan before it progresses further.
We will continue to:
· Engage with planning officers and councillors
· Work with professional advisors
· Coordinate with relevant organisations
· Represent the interests of the Club and its members
What Members Can Do
There is no immediate action required, but members can continue to support the Club by:
· Staying informed through updates
· Engaging with local councillors where appropriate
· Encouraging awareness within the local community
We will provide further guidance when the next stage of the process begins.
Summary
The consultation stage is now complete, but the process is ongoing.
This is a critical period during which decisions will be made about which sites remain in the Local Plan. Your support has ensured that strong, evidence-based objections have been submitted.
We will continue to keep members informed as matters progress.
Thank you again for your support.
